Completed - The Kitchen

Stove back in place and hooked up. We plan to get a new range and had the build set to allow for a bigger unit.

Jeff and I have not moved in yet, but my oldest daughter has. She is using this little flame decor fridge for now. The space is custom made for our fridge.

Everything is ready to use. I will be having a new dishwasher installed in a few weeks. The space is open for it.

It's beginning to look a lot like. . . Kitchen!

The top cabinets are up! Thick plywood on the countertops is ready for the heavy Granite that arrives today.

Sneak Peek

The new floor is in and the walls have 2 coats of hi gloss Cherries Jubilee on them. The ceiling and door get done tomorrow and the cabinets arrive! The cabinets are dark brown/black. A color called Espresso.

Also new overhead lights!

Kitchen Floor tile

Contractor hired. The first thing we had to do is pick a kitchen floor tile. It came down to these two. We went with the lighter one.

First things first

Before we can even move in, this kitchen needs to be renovated. The job is going to need a contractor, but Jeff decided to do some of the prep work himself.

 

The useless Pantry that I mentioned was the first thing to go. Jeff armed with sledge hammer and saw took it out. It ended up being more well built than it appeared to be.

 The old kitchen floor tile from about 2000 is there.

In the picture above you can see the old ceiling light, which was positioned to be hit by the pantry door every time it was opened, Hence, there is no glass in that fixture. And you see? White on white on white = BORING! We will be changing that soon!

These old pantry doors will make a sturdy gardening & planting table later so we are saving those.
There are the Mexican pavers (above) They will be stripped and then re- sealed to get their original beauty back.
